I am better

And I don't mean that in the narcissistic way

But I am better

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am better.

Sometimes I stare at the celing and think of how far i've come.

I have friends now, real friends.
Going outside no longer feels like a burden,
like a dreaded task that weighed heavy on my back.

Now it's just going outside.

My lungs feel clearer
My hair feels cleaner
I feel comfortable in my own skin

I talk to people and I laugh, actually laugh.
I learned to love talking again,
I talk to my mom all the time; about my day and my friends.
And I enjoy seeing her smile whenever I tell her one of my crazy adventures.

It's nice.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that I am better
Sometimes I have to remind myself that better doesnt mean feeling great all the time.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that despite everything I still am myself
That i've picked myself up before and that I can do it again

Sometimes I have to remind myself that healing is a process
That life is worth looking foward to despite the hard days

Sometimes I have to remind myself to be proud of me
Because im not pefect, but I am better.

And thats all that matters to me.
