My Birthday
Hi guys! My birthday was this week on Wednesday and I celebrated on Friday to honor my grandfather and aunt who would always say they would be at my 15th birthday. May they Rest In Peace . Anyways, I didn’t actually want a party cuz you know I think parties are a waste of time but I told myself, maybe it won’t be so bad. My party wasn’t too bad. I got to laugh a lot at some cousins of mine and even made this girl I never even invited angry because I wouldn’t dance with her and her friends but first, let me explain why she even showed up. So, my mom knows a person on the same street as us and this neighbor has some daughters and a granddaughter and they basically brought their friend but I already didn’t get along with the granddaughter so I politely declined to dance cuz I didn’t want to and I was tired. Then, she walked of with her aunt and friend to tell my mom that I wouldn’t dance. Also, my sister showed up. We’ll call her Carly cuz she looked like she could be a Carly when she was an angsty teen. Now, me and my Carly barely communicate so it was nice to see her again. In total, I doubled my savings from my piggy bank and got a couple of presents. Carly gave me a Fujifilm instax camera with a receipt and some cash in case I chose to return it. My aunt “Mildred”(that’s obviously a fake name if you couldn’t tell) gave me some trendy teen clothes she probably bought at a cheap department store and a tie dye pajama set. Then, a bunch of people gave me these weird perfumes from presumably bed bath and beyond or jewelry. The rest didn’t know what to buy so they stuffed my card box with cards and money. Also, I forgot to say this but my parents gave me my surprise present and it was a new iPad. I appreciated the thoughts but I didn’t really like everything I was given as much as the camera, my new iPad, all the cash, and I guess the clothes although I need to look at them better. That doesn’t mean I plan on regifting these presents. The people who gave these to me spent good money and it wouldn’t be right for me to get rid of these items so I’ll keep them at home and see if I actually enjoy the scents. It’s a good thing that my family doesn’t know about this blog otherwise, they’d probably be upset.
Now, should you have a quinceañera?
Obviously, I don’t want to say you should or you shouldn’t. I personally don’t think girls should be told what option to choose. That’s up for them to decide. Now, I will say this. Lots of traditional families and bitter women who never had their parties assume that if you refuse to have this coming of age party, you’re confused and then they either force it on you or they shame you for it and tell everyone that you’ll come around. That’s not true. Some people do change their minds and some don’t but that’s ok. It’s all up to you, not me or your family. I had mine and I enjoyed it but I also know that some girls don’t enjoy theirs or just choose not to so I can’t give a definitive answer to you. Anyways, this was my party experience. I would repeat it again if I could but since I can’t, I’m just going to wait until my next chronicle which is back to school since I live a pretty boring life. Also, I have to go back to school on the 9th. NOT COOL! That’s totally not awesome sauce. My summer break was so short and now it’s almost over. Anyways, Bye Bye!
